Puttur, Apr 23: "The BJP is suffering from shortage of capable candidates who can be put up as formidable party candidates for Lok Sabha election. Therefore, it has encouraged some Congressmen to defect to that party and then issued them tickets," opined Congress Party Lok Sabha candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency, B Janardhan Poojary.

He was speaking to reporters after walking through the streets of Uppinangady town, seeking votes for him. He also stressed, that those who have deserted the party and joined the BJP would never be admitted back into the party. Poojary also expressed the confidence that the Congress Party will emerge as the choice of the people in this election, as the party workers have been putting in honest, hard work to ensure his win.

Congress leaders Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Sarvotham Gowda, Ashraf Bastikar etc were present.

    Manu from Orissa. You always start supporting like a spokesperson for congress whatever bad or sometimes good they do. Are you from one of those khandhamal victims? Your reply will hardly matter since you donot cast your vote here in Mangalore since, we being in Mangalore will never vote for poojary. Jai Hind

    Mr.Poojary, before showing the finger to BJP, first you see your party. What you tell about Sangliana, Manjunatha Kunnur & Jaya Prakash Hegde?. And you also telling that those who have deserted the party and joined the BJP would never be admitted back into the party. Then what about Bangarappa, Manorama Madhwaraj, D.K.Taradevi?.
