Karkal, Apr 23: “Mahatma Gandhi had decided to dissolve the Congress Party soon after the nation gained independence on August 15 1947, as it had served India’s freedom struggle.   The general elections in the country will test the religious sentiments of fellow Indians.  The BJP seeks to reign in the national capital, in order to curb terrorism of all forms”, said the chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

He was campaigning for Mangalore constituency BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel at Moodbidri, and addressed a large public gathering at Padmavati Mantap on Thursday April 23 evening.

“The BJP is committed to protecting national interest on priority.  The BJP-led state government’s successful schemes such as Employment Mela, loans to farmers at three percent interest rate, free electricity supply to farmers, Bhagyalaxmi scheme for girls and other popular schemes have become the envy of the Congress.  BJP wants the nation to be free from terror, hunger, and debt”, he added.

Kateel urged the voters to cast their votes for him so as to help address their various issues at the centre.

BJP local leaders Rukmaya Poojary, Franklyn Monteiro, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Jagdish Adikari, former MLA Jayaram Shetty, and Coastal Development Authority chairman Nagaraj Shetty were present on the occasion.
