M'lore: Poojary’s ‘Lack of Capable Leaders' Comment Attracts BJP Ire

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 24: The BJP leaders have sharply reacted to the comment made by the Congress Party candidate from the local constituency B Janardhan Poojary that the BJP has been facing a death of capable leaders to be fielded in elections. This comment was made by Poojary while speaking to reporters in Puttur on Wednesday April 22.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary: On the eligibility and capacity question, it would be better if Poojary resorts to introspection. This statement appears to have been aimed at insulting the voters. The capacity of Congress leaders, who have faced three consecutive defeats, is before everyone to see.

District BJP president Monappa Bhandary: Poojary should question himself as to whether he has the eligibility and capacity to contest again in the election. It is for the conscious voters to decide on the eligibility, not Poojary who has faced defeats.

MLC Ganesh Karnik: Congress Party is becoming weaker because of the lack of proper leadership. People are joining the BJP and there is a pro-BJP wave in the state because of the able leadership of the party and people-friendly programmes implemented by the BJP government.

Ex-MLA Rukmaya Poojary: The Congress Party is facing the dearth of suitable candidates. Because of this, it is faced with the need to allot ticket to candidates who have lost three elections in the past. As the BJP has hundreds of eligible candidates, it has decided to field a common party worker this time.
