Mangalore: Fishermen Save Six Tourists at Ullal Beach

Mangalore, Apr 25: The local fishermen saved six visitors who were being washed away by strong waves near Mogaveera Patna beach, Ullal on Friday April 24.

Eight members of a single family from Jayanagar Bangalore had visited Sayyed Madani Darga in Ullal on the morning of Friday. In the afternoon, the family visited the said beach. While playing in the sea waters, six of them were washed away. As the panicky people raised an alarm, local fishermen and also swimmers of the lifeguards’ team jumped into the sea and saved them.

One of the visitors, who was in serious condition, was admitted into a private hospital in the city. Details about the tourists were not immediately available.

The team of life guards comprises of Pravin Kotian, Sharat S Karkera, Ashok, Rohit Bangera, Prahlad, Jagadish Putran, Babu Putran, Sudhesh and Sharat Karkera.
