Mangalore, Apr 25: A newly-married couple, were killed in an accident at Kapikad near Thokkottu while they were on the way to Ullal Darga on Saturday April 25.
Married for just a month and a half, Mohammad Ashraf (27) and Safiya (20) were traveling on a motorbike when they collided with a lorry.
Both are residents of Avathala house in Permude near Paivalike in Kasaragod district. The accident took place on the national highway at about 11.20 am on Saturday.
Though the two were immediately taken to hospital, they succumbed to injuries before they could get medical attention.
The lorry, which is from Haryana, was on its way to Kasaragod. Ullal police visited the spot and registered a case against the lorry driver for negligent and rash driving.
