Bangalore: Three Kannada Books by Ravi Ra Anchan Released in Metro

Three Kannada books by Mumbai-based litterateur and columnist Ravi Ra Anchan were released here recently, by Kannada Books Authority former chairman Prof S G Siddaramaiah.
 
‘Yaksharanga’, ‘Arivemba Maye’ and ‘Manodharma’, a collection of articles are the three works.

Prof Siddaramaiah, speaking on the occasion, said that all the three books of Anchan, explored the origin of the cultural hierarchy of southern India and has set the foundation for future research. 



He said that he had been most impressed by the contents of ‘Manodharma’, as it is a collection of articles that can be utilized effectively to present papers on contemporary culture in our country of multi-religious and diverse cultures.

Prof Siddaramaiah added that the author has attempted to reform society. 
 
Chandrashekar Palettady, editor of the metro’s Kannada daily ‘Karnataka Malla’, was the chief guest while veteran litterateur and editor of ‘Dalit Voice’ bulletin, V T Rajashekar was the guest of honour on the occasion.  Eminent litterateur Sar Ju Katkar, and Dr Shivarudrappa Kallolikar were present.
 
Palettady said that Anchan is an honest littérateur, as it’ has been seen that most litterateurs would not follow the ideologies that they advocate in their books. 
 
Rajashekar said that the books of Anchan are useful in freeing the downtrodden from the clutches of the wealthy and the ruling class. 
 
Anchan expressed his gratitude to Kannada Book Authority for publishing his books and acknowledged the Kannada dailies for publishing his articles thereby nurturing his literary skills. 

He said that he was equally inspired by the metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, and other cities as well remote in penning his thoughts.  Anchan added that his keen observations of cultural practices in various places were summarized in his books. 
 
Rajashekar welcomed the gathering and compered the programme while H B Ramesh proposed the vote of thanks.
