Udupi, Apr 28: "D V Sadanand Gowda became a leader by engineering communal riots in Sullia. As he has developed cold feet about the possibility of the poor people voting for him again in his constituency, he has moved here to try his luck. He is an escapist," alleged Congress leader, former chief minister and Congress candidate from Chikballapur Lok Sabha constituency Veerappa Moily.

Addressing a Congress campaign meeting in Hebri on Monday April 27, he said Sadanand Gowda is a slave of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. At the same time, Yeddyurappa does not have administrative experience and he is a puppet in the hands of Reddys from Bellary, who are plundering the mineral wealth of the state, he charged.

"People of Karkala never rejected me. This time, my victory from Chikballapur constituency is assured," he declared.

"The BJP was behind the pub attack in Mangalore. BJP MP Srikantappa never spoke a single work when in parliament. Do you think Sadanand Gowda will speak about your problems there now?" he questioned the people.
