Udupi: Bank Employees Extend Support to Radha Sundaresh

Udupi, Apr 28: Karnataka Pradesh Bank Employees Federation, LIC Employees Association and General Insurance Employees Union have expressed their support to Radha Sundaresh of the CPI, who has been fielded in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency as a candidate of the Third Front.

In a press conference convened here on Monday April 27, Bank Employees Federation general secretary H V Rai alleged, that banks are facing liquidation because of the faulty policies of the government. "About 40 private sector banks have already faced liquidation. The country is facing the process of privatization of banks. Under these circumstances, the communist parties alone have the potential of protecting the interests of the country. At present, the communist parties, in association with other like-minded parties, have formed the Third Front. The bank employees organizations will work for the victory of this candidate, he explained.

The employees organizations have been demanding for the nationalization of all the banks, recovering huge outstanding dues from corporate sector, expansion of the public sector banking sector etc., he explained. He also requested the people to reject the Congress and the BJP that are detrimental to the country's progress and thereby help for the upliftment of the downtrodden people and the dalits.

Federation of LIC Employees Unions working president S Sundaramurthy, General Insurance unit secretary R Srinvasamurthy, Udupi district CPI coordinator K V Bhat, Chikmamagalur division joint secretary Shankaranath were present.
