Mangalore: Criminal Cases against People holding Two Voter Identity Cards

Mangalore, Apr 29: Two persons, both residents of areas falling under Mangalore South assembly constituency, have been booked on the allegation of possessing two voter identity cards each. The district administration has filed criminal cases against them.

Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj, who also happens to be the District Election Officer, after coming know that Chetan K and Jatin K are in possession of two voter identity cards(VIC) each, ordered initiation of proceedings against them. They are accused of obtaining the VICs in divisions No.23 and 55 of the said assembly constituency.

Ponnuraj reiterated that under no circumstances should the voters cast their votes in more than one centre.
