Chikmagalur, Apr 29: The policemen of Kalasa village have arrested Radha Sundaresh, Third Front candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency, for violating model code of conduct.

The policemen made this arrest on Tuesday April 28, after the Election Officer complained about the fact that she was involved with campaigning for herself by fixing microphone and hoisting party flag to her vehicle without obtaining mandatory permission.

Immediately after the news spread, hundreds of people gathered in front of the police station, condemned the act and demanded for her release. Radha Sundaresh alleged that the Election Officer has been behaving like an agent of the BJP. "Unnecessarily problems are being created for me to stop me from taking part in electioneering," she claimed.
