Udupi, Jul 7: “The victory campaign of BJP which has won 25 seats in Loksabha elections will not stop at that. Our government will be formed in Karnataka state. We will also have the strength of winning more than 121 seats in the state,” said BJP state chief secretary and Udupi-Chikkamagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje. She was speaking after setting in motion preliminary membership campaign 2019 in Udupi district level.
“While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amith Shah are setting in motion membership campaigns in Varanasi and Telangana, MLAs in Karnataka are leaving Congress party. They may also become members of BJP later,” she said.
“While other parties elect national and state presidents on the basis of genealogy, BJP is electing presidents in democratic manner. Ordinary people also can reach high position in our party. Several such faces can already be seen. The process will be the beginning for membership campaign.”

BJP Udupi district president Mattar Rathnaker Hegde said that BJP state president Yeddyurappa has the aim of recruiting 50 lacs new members and nine lac members in Udupi district. “Besides toll free number, traditional application can also be submitted for registration of membership. As there are BJP MLAs in all the constituencies in the district, twice the number of members when compared to last time can be recruited,” he said.
Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, state BJP secretary Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, state executive member Udayakumar Shetty, zilla panchayat president Dinaker Babu, district yuva morcha president Srisha Nayak, programme convener Mahesh Takur, Udupi taluk panchayat president Nalini Pradeep, local municipal councilor Manjunath Manipal and Kalpana Sudhama were present.
Udupi BJP president Prabhaker Poojary welcomed. District chief secretary and programme convener Kuyiladi Suresh Nayak compered the programme.
