Bengaluru: BJP to welcome disqualified former Congress MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi

Bengaluru, Jul 27: Influential BJP leaders and senior leaders in Belagavi have extended welcome to disqualified former Congress MLA and senior leader Ramesh Jarkiholi in their party. Speaking separately to reporters in the city, Belagavi district senior BJP MLAs Umesh Katti and Abhay Patil clarified that they are bound by the decision that will be taken by their central leadership.

“There are no differences between Congress and BJP since the beginning. All of us have grown in cooperative sector. There are mutual understandings between us. We will work for progress in the district with cooperation in the future also,” said Hukkeri constituency MLA, former minister Umesh Katti.

“Our leaders will take a decision on the joining of Congress leader Ramesh Jarkiholi to our party. I am not aspiring to be a minister. We hope to get two minister’s berths in our district. We will provide excellent governance in the leadership of Yediyurappa,” he said.

Belagavi city MLA Abhay Patil said that Umesh Katti and Jarkiholi becoming ministers from Belagavi are certain. “Therefore, I will not table my demand for minister’s post,” he said.

“Development of Belagavi city is my priority. The job opportunities that are available in Bengaluru should be made available in here also. I will work with the cooperation of party leaders in the district with help from CM Yediyurappa,” he said.
