Mangaluru: Workshop on Konkani traditional songs held

Mangaluru, Jul 29: Training on Konkani traditional songs was held under the joint auspices of Gurpur youth organization, PYV and Mandd Sobhann organization on July 27 and 28 in the auditorium of Lady of Pompei church at Gurpur near here.

Fr Antony Lobo inaugurated the training workshop and also gave his blessings. Eric Ozario, who was the chief trainer, explained the history of 67 traditional songs and also taught the participants how to sing them melodiously. Joyce Ozario, Elron Rodrigues, Jason Lobo and Kingsley Nazreth extended their cooperation.


The certificates for the participants were distributed during the valedictory function by Richard Fernandes, vice-president of church pastoral council. Animator of PYC Jeffreyan Tauro, president Jason Sequeira and secretary Ancilla Pinto were present on the occasion.
