Udupi, Jul 29: A joint meeting of different Congress units in the district was held under the leadership of district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor in district Congress Bhavan here.

“As none of the political parties have received clear majority in Vidhan Sabha, unstable situation prevails in the state. Therefore, Vidhan Sabha elections are likely in a few months. Besides, as there will be elections for local bodies in the near future, all the units need to be recreated in order to give new pep to the party. Unit presidents should join hands with me in these circumstances,” said Ashok Kumar Kodavoor. Advice and suggestions to strengthen the party were received from unit presidents.

Veronica Cornelio, Chandrashekar Shetty, Geetha Vagle, Shashidhar Shetty Elloor, Yathish Karkera, Ismael Atrady, S Narayan, Suresh Naik, Ganesh Kotian, Vishwas Ameen, Roshni Oliver, Harish Shetty Pangla, Udyavar Nagesh Kumar, Kishore, Upendra Mendon, Prabhaker Acharya and others were present.

Spokesperson Bhasker Rao Kidiyoor earlier welcomed the gathering and rendered the vote of thanks.
