Bantwal, Jul 30: A tree fell on a female student at Kamaje curve injuring her on Monday, July 29.

The incident happened when she was walking at Borugudde, near Kamaje curve. The injured student is identified as Shalini, daughter of Kamaje resident Sesappa Moolya. She is a first PUC student at Government Pre University College, B C Road.

Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R visited the spot, called fire service personnel and police, got the tree vacated and took precautionary measures.

Fire service personnel removed the tree. Bantwal tahsildar S R Rashmi, Bantwal excise inspector Navin Benjanapadavu, village accountant Shivananda Natekar, Kumar, staff Shiva Prasad, town police station SI Chandrashekar and staff visited the spot.
