Udupi, Jul 30: Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat and Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar met Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa and requested him to vacate sand mounds from July 31 itself.

The earlier permission obtained for removal of sand in CRZ limits from August was postponed by two months to September 31 by changing the order.

MLAs Raghupathi Bhat and V Sunil Kumar requested the chief minister to modify the order so that sand mounds will be removed from July 31 itself.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat is his letter addressed to the chief minister stated that failure to so will cause scarcity of sand and problems to people.
