Kaup: Accident at Pangala takes away life of merchant

Kaup, Jul 30: After a car hit him on national highway 66 at Pangala near Katapadi on the evening of Monday July 29, a merchant lost his life. The deceased has been identified as Satyakumar Shetty (64), who runs a provision store. His place of stay was near Innanje railway station.

Shetty used to operate his provisions store near Lord Janardana temple at Pangala. He was waiting by the roadside at 4.15 pm on Monday when a car that was moving towards Mangaluru from Udupi hit him.

Satyakumar Shetty, who suffered injuries to his head and left leg, was taken to the district government hospital by the local people. However, the doctors who attended on him found that he was no more.

The victim of the accident is survived by wife and a son.
