Karkala, Jul 30: A seminar on rainwater harvesting was held under Swatchha Bharath Internship programme in association with Nandalike Abbanadka Friends Club at the residence of Abbanadka Vasu Poojary at Nandalike here.

Rainwater falling from the roof and flowing around the house was made to get collected in a seven feet deep pit which was built with stones and filled with coal, three types of gravel and sand to improve ground water level. Those who gathered there were shown ways to harvest rainwater in this manner.



Nandalike Abbanadka Club president Rajesh Kotian, Saritha Vasu Poojary, Abbanadka Friends Club convener Abbanadka Sandeep V Poojary, founder president Vittal Moolya, programme director Abbanadka Sathish Poojary, former president Suresh Poojary, secretary Prashanth Poojary, vice president Harish Poojary, treasurer Hariprasad Acharya, Sunita Pinto and others were present.
