Mangaluru: Dengue cases show sign of abatement in district

Mangaluru, Jul 31: There has been a lull in the number of new dengue cases being reported in Dakshina Kannada district after a gap of several days. There has been an appreciable decrease in new patients getting admitted into hospitals with suspected dengue infections, sources said.

Health department officials said that those admitted into hospitals are getting healed and everyday 30 to 35 patients are being discharged from the hospitals.

In the meanwhile, the officials have continued with their drive against spots which breed larvae of mosquitos. On Tuesday, fine of Rs 40,000 was collected. The operation was conducted at Bejai, Kapikad and Bunder areas of the city.
