Mangaluru, Aug 3: S Vijaya Prasad has recently taken over as the deputy superintendent of police (DySP) of Lokayukta Mangaluru division. Vijaya Prasad is a native of Kota in Udupi district.
Vijaya Prasad joined the police service in 1998 as sub-inspector of police. He served in Davanagere, Bhadravathi, Chikkamangaluru etc. He was promoted as police inspector in 2007 and served in Hassan, Holenarasipura, Kushalnagar, Chikkamagaluru, Karkala and Ankola. He served in the Lokayukta division here since the last four years and has now been promoted.
Vijaya Prasad happens to be the son of S Ananda Poojary from Gundmi in Brahmavar taluk, who was the car driver of renowned writer and multi-faceted personality, Kota Shivaram Karanth. He also was the artiste of Saligrama Makkala Mela.
