Puttur, Aug 5: Chetan (22), from Birmarakody in Balnad village in the taluk, who had gone missing on the night August 1 under mysterious circumstances, was found from Dharmasthala on Saturday August 3.

Chetan used to work for a petrol bunk located at Kemmayi in the outskirts of the city. He had left his home on Thursday for attending his work but had not gone back home. He had sent a message to family members saying that his motor bike wheel had suffered puncture. He had then informed his ATM card number to his cousin, after which his cellphone was found switched off.

Chetan's father, Vishwanath Gowda, had filed complaint in the town police station here about his missing son. In the meantime, the cellphone and purse belonging to Chetan was fond from an ATM centre of a bank here. This had given rise to a sense of panic among his close relatives.

Chetan has now been found from Dharmasthala. The police brought him back to his village. It is said that Chetan, on the day he went missing, had been booked by the police for drunken driving. He was issued a notice by the police. Chetan had developed cold feet at this development and fled from his place, he said during his questioning.
