Kundapur, Oct 31: “A political party that used the picture and name of Mahatma Gandhi who fought for independence has ruled forgetting his principles,” said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje without mentioning the name of Congress party. She was speaking after taking part in Gandhi Sankalpa Yatre from Kundapur Jannadi to Bidkalkatte on Wednesday, October 30.

“The leaders of political parties who are using the picture of Gandhiji who campaigned for India’s independence during elections have restricted the information of Gandhiji in school text books to four or five sentences. Narendra Modi is realizing Gandhiji’s dream of Ramarajya. Modiji has implemented the resolution of clean India for the first time in the history of the country. The work of conveying from house to house the ideals of all the freedom fighters of the country will be conducted in the leadership of Modiji in coming days,” she said.

BJP Kundapur Vidhan Sabha constituency committee president Kadoor Suresh Shetty, MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, Sandhya Ramesh, Shanker Ankadakatte, BJP zilla panchayat members, taluk panchayat and gram panchayat members took part in the rally on foot.
