Kaup: Killer runway vehicle which caused death found from Bagalkot

Kaup, Oct 31: The police from the station here have succeeded in taking into possession an Innova car that had fled after knocking down a man near here and causing his death on October 18. Driver of the car, identified as Jagadish Akkimota (37), has been arrested.

Latesh Mendon (37), an auto rickshaw driver, had parked his rickshaw at the Kotalakatte rickshaw stand on the evening of October 18 and was walking by the side of the highway when a car had hit him before fleeing. Latesh Mendon, who sustained grievous injuries, had died before he could be admitted into a hospital. The police had intensified probe on the basis of details of the car recorded in CCTV cameras installed by the side of the highway.

The arrest was made by Kaup assistant sub-inspector Chandrashekhar and staff under the guidance of circle inspector Mahesh Prasad and sub-inspector,\ Rajashekhar Saganur.
