Kasargod, Oct 31: A person who had gone up a coconut tree in order to make preparations for the final rites of a woman who had died in that house, died after falling down from the tree. This incident happened on Tuesday October 29.
The victim of this accident was Ramanna Gowda (62) from Edakkana Kalchandi near Permude.
Mookambika Bhat, wife of the late Keshava Bhat from Gumpe near Dharmathadka had died on October 29. As a tender coconut was needed to complete final rites, Ramanna Gowda had scaled a coconut tree. When getting down, he slipped and suffered serious injuries.
He was immediately taken to a private hospital at Bandyodu but his life could not be saved. He was working as coolie, and has left behind wife, two sons, and a daughter. Postmortem was conducted at Mangalpady government hospital, and a case of unnatural death was filed in Badiadka police station.
