Mangaluru, Nov 8: The charge of unnatural sexual atrocity committed on a boy at Amblamogaru Belma village was found proved by the second additional district sessions and special court. The court has reserved its judgement.

The person who has been proved guilty is Muhammed Ashraf alias Ashraf (38), resident of Amblamogaru Belma Renjady. He was accused of forcefully committing sexual atrocity by way of unnatural sex on an 11-year-old boy on July 13, 2016.

Judge of the court B R Pallavi, who announced the verdict that the charge has been proved on Thursday, said that the order on quantum of punishment has been reserved. Charges of unauthorized entry, unnatural sexual atrocity and charges under POCSO Act have been found to be proved. In coming to this conclusion, the judge had examined ten witnesses and ten exhibits.

Ahmed had visited the boy's home enquiring about availability of scrap for sale in the afternoon. Although both of them insisted that they did not have any scrap for sale, he had forcefully taken the boy behind the house in the guise of searching for scrap, and against the wishes of the boy, had used him to get sexual pleasure, before escaping. The boy, who was shaken by this unexpected incident, had called his father over phone and explained about his harrowing experience. The parents came home, got full information from the boy, and filed complaint in Ullal police station.

Ashraf was booked by the police under POCSO Act. The then Ullal police inspector Gopikrishna, and sub-inspector Shivaprakash, had filed charge sheet. Public prosecutor C B Venkataramana Swamy, had argued the case on behalf of the prosecution.
