Kasargod: Attempt on life of Muslim League activist from Uppala

Kasargod, Dec 5: In an incident which happened at Uppala in the district at around 10 pm on Tuesday December 3, an attempt to murder Mustafa (43) from Uppala was made. Efforts were made to eliminate him by knocking him down by a car, and again with the help of sickles.

Mustafa is a joint secretary of Muslim League, Mangalpady gram panchayat unit. He was returning home in scooter after working out at the gymnasium, when he came under attack.

After a car hit his scooter, Mustafa fell down on the ground. Two persons wearing helmets, who were seated inside the car then attacked him with sickles. When Mustafa tried to escape by running away, the gang chased him. On hearing Mustafa's shouts, locals rushed to the spot at which the attackers sped away in the car through the Patwady road, it is gathered.

The injured Mustafa was provided first aid at Uppala government hospital and then shifted to a hospital at Mangaluru. The police visited the spot and undertook investigation.
