Udupi: Nudi Namana held for late Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji

Udupi, Jan 6: A nudi namana programme, organized in memory of late Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, was held at Rajangana, Sri Krishna Math here on Saturday, January 4.

Addressing the gathering, Dharamasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade said, “Building a monument of Pejawar Shri in Udupi is necessary for remembering his lifetime service. Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji’s life and his works is message to all. He treated his body like instrument (machine). He used it to the maximum till his last days. He achieved many things in life and his achievements are enormous. He himself was not aware of them. He served restless to the society.



“Today’s youths do not want to have a senior citizen at home, because they think that elderly people are a burden to them. Swamiji did not worry about his physic. He used to travel to different places, participating in programmes without rest. He revived many educational institutions in his life.”

Recalling the memories of late Pejawar Swamiji, Shri Vidyadheesha Teertha, Seer of Palimaru Paryaya Math said,”Swamiji’s mind was filled with spiritual thoughts and he used to recite Vishnu Sahasranama when he was in a programme also. He is a Vishwa yogi. His last pravachana was held at Rajangana. He spoke for half an hour though he had fever. His body did not support, but he fought with it. His name and service are spread across the country. There is no comparison to him and he lies in everyone’s mind.”

Sri Vidyarajeshwara Theertha Swamiji, MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Jerry Vincent Dias, proprietor of Mandavi Builders, Dr G Shankar of G Shankar Family Trust, Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor of MAHE, Vinay Kumar Sorake and other dignitaries paid rich homage to Sri Pejawar Swamiji.
