Mangaluru: Third day of Novena at Infant Jesus Shrine held

Mangaluru, Jan 8: Devotees thronged Infant Jesus Shrine on 2nd day of Novena on Tuesday, January 7.

The day was dedicated to the country. Fervent prayers were offered for the peace and harmony of all the citizens. Creative liturgy was organized on the theme for the main Mass at 6pm. Fr Joachim Rodrigues OCD, Fr Richard Saldanha OCD, Fr Rovel D Souza OCD, Fr Raymond Santhanaz, OCD, Fr Roby Mathew, Fr Arun Lobo from Naravi, Fr Richard Coelho from Fr Muller Hospital, and Fr Suresh Saldanha OCD celebrated Holy Masses and preached beautiful homilies.



Fr Joachim Rodrigues conducted adoration at noon before the meals were served. Fr Santhosh, parish priest of Ranipura brought his choir members who sang melodious hymns that enhanced the participation in the liturgy. Along with the main celebrant seven priests concelebrated and solemnized the Mass.

Fr Stifan Pereira was at the Dhyanavana Publication Counter and Fr Joseph Cyril at Naman Ballok Jesu Magazine counter and Fr Liguory Crasta over saw the Mass and petition counters. Fr Cyprian Fernandes looked after the food arrangements both for devotees and guests.

Carmelite Scholastics took care of the seating arrangements and wellbeing of the pilgrims. Fr Prakash, the pastor of Infant Jesus Shrine supervised the work of volunteers. Throughout the day the spiritual needs of the devotees were met by the six dedicated deacons. Fr Felix Moras along with the other priests took care of the sacrament of Reconciliation.
