Mangaluru, Jan 8: Sundar Naik (55) residing in a house at Kattemar in Malali village near the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd oil unit committed suicide by jumping into a well on Monday January 6 evening.
Naik was an auto rickshaw driver by profession. His family lives in poor conditions. He has left behind wife, two daughters, and a son.
About four months back, he had collapsed due to high blood pressure, and injured his hands and legs. Because of health problems which plagued him, he had stopped working and started staying at home since then, it is gathered.
The body was brought out of the well. Bajpe police, who have registered a case of unnatural death, are probing the incident.
