Udupi: SIO protests condemning assaults on JNU students, teachers

Udupi, Jan 8: Students Islamic Organization (SIO) of India, here, held protests here condemning sudden entry and assaults inside the hostel by masked people on JNU students and teachers on Sunday night.

More than 200 students holding lighted candles inside Udupi deputy commissioner’s office premises took part in the protests condemning the assaults and urged for justice to students and professors.



Well-known thinker, progressive campaigner, Professor Paniraj and youth campaigner Samvartha Sahil addressed the protestors. SIO Udupi district president Afwan Hoode, member Nasir, Shah Rukh, Vasim, Fazil, Ayan and others were present.

Manipal University students shouted slogans of independence against the union government. Fainal Malpe compered the protests and thanked the gathering.
