Bantwal: Drug peddler arrested, ganja worth Rs 5,000 seized

Bantwal, Jan 8: Bantwal rural police station sub inspector Prasanna arrested a person looking to sell ganja on Wednesday, January 8. The arrested person is Bantwal Sajeepanadu village Kanchinadka Padavu resident Siddik alias Aboobacker Siddik (32). Rs 5,000 worth ganja weighing 350 grams was confiscated from him by the police.

SI Prasanna was on rounds with staff at Kanchinadkapadavu, Sajipanadu village, Bantwal police station limits when they saw a person walking towards Ambedkar Bhavan, Kanchinadkapadavu. He started running when he saw the police. Police stopped him and checked his bag to fin ganja.

A case is registered in Bantwal rural police station. Investigation is in progress. Bantwal rural police station staff ASI Kalaimar, HC Suresh, Janardhan, Kiran, PC Manoj took part in the operation in the leadership of rural SI Prasanna under directions from circle inspector T D Nagaraj and guidance from Bantwal DySP Valentine D’ Souza.
