Mangaluru: Devotees throng despite bandh on fourth day of Novena at Infant Jesus Shrine

Mangaluru, Jan 9: The fourth day of Novena at Infant Jesus Shrine was dedicated to the couples.

A special prayer was offered to the couples during the novena prayers. Fr Joachim Rodrigues led a special prayer for the couples. They renewed their commitment to each other by pronouncing their nuptial vows. Fr Alwyn Sequeira, Fr Maxim D Souza, Fr Paul Melwyn D Souza, Fr Joachim Fernandes, Fr Ivan D Souza, Fr Vipin Chiramell, Fr Ronald Pais, Fr Benjamine Pinto, and Fr Anil celebrated Masses and preached homilies.

Lunch was served to all the devotees. Though there was bandh, people thronged to the shrine throughout the day. A special adoration was conducted before lunch focusing on the many problems couples face these days.



Fr Prakash, the shrine pastor prayed for those who have not yet received the gift of a child, spouses working abroad, couples that are on the verge of divorce, couples who have financial crisis, single parents etc. He also invited people to participate in large numbers in blood donation camp to be held on the premises on the following day.
