12th Bengaluru International Film Festival from Feb 26 to Mar 4

Bengaluru, Jan 9: The 12th Edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival will be held from Feb 26 to March 4.

A meeting of the Bengaluru International Film Festival Organising committee held in Bengaluru under the chairmanship of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa decided that the inaugural event will be in the presence of national and international delegates, film makers and film celebrities from Bengaluru.

The Film Festival will be organised on behalf of Government of Karnataka by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and Department of Information and Public Relations with the support of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

As in the previous film festival, Competitive sections for Asian, Indian and Kannada Cinema will be held with handsome Cash prizes.
 
The screenings will be held at 11 screens – PVR Cinemas of Orion Mall in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru.

There will be Contemporary World Cinema, Retrospectives, Country Focus, Grand Classics, Homages& Remembrances, FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) award winners, Network for promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award winners, Unsung Incredible India – Cinemas of the little known Indian languages, Bio-Pics.

Nearly 200 films from 50 Countries will be screened under these categories.

The festival will also host various forums for academic interactions on Filmmaking & Film Appreciation like seminars, Workshops, Master classes etc., for the benefit of film professionals, discerning audiences and students on different aspects of cinema.
