Mangaluru, Jan 9: In tune with the digital India concept, more and more services are now being made online. Public sector Hindustan Petroleum has taken lead in cashless delivery of LPG cylinders by introducing this scheme all over India.

So far, the practice was to call the helpline to book cylinders and make payment in cash when the cylinders are delivered. In this case, it was possible for delivering cylinders to someone else by collecting cash. Cashless delivery will put an end to these issues, the company officials’ claim.

In the new system, money is recovered at the time of booking through any mode of digital payment or company's website. Concession is given if cylinders are booked through the company app. The company also issues cards which look like ATM cards.

At the time of delivery, the personnel not only confirm weight with machine but also confirm payment details by scanning Q R code in the card. Now fresh booking can be made by using the card or the device the delivery personnel have with them. HP cards are available with dealers against payment of Rs 30, it is gathered.
