Belagavi: Woman washing clothes in River Krishna devoured by crocodile

Belagavi, Jan 16: A woman who was washing clothes in River Krishna was pulled away and killed by a crocodile. This incident happened on Wednesday January 15.

Laxmi Raju Ichalakaranji, residing in Vaganimar residential locality by the side of Khemalapura road in Krishna-Kittur village in Kagwad taluk, lost her life in this unexpected incident.

The crocodile which dragged the lady away into the depths of the river, left her body after killing her. Athani deputy superintendent of police Girish, circle police inspector Shankargouda Patil and sub-inspector Hanumanth Shirahatti visited the spot.

A case in this connection was registered in Kagwad police station.
