Udupi, Jan 18: “The incidents of organizations become useful for future generations as a memory when those are recorded,” said senior journalist Shashidhar Mastibailu.

He addressed a gathering on Saturday after releasing ‘Amcho Sandesh’ magazine’s special edition in view of a historic conference Samudayotsava – 2020. The conference is planned for the first time in the history of Udupi diocese at Kalyanpur Mount Rosary Church grounds on January 19.

“Registration is an excellent way to make the way that we grew up reach future generations. May the programme be a success,” he said.

Journalist John D’Souza who achieved special progress in different sectors, Kundapur community medium progressive farmer Julian Danti (paddy farming), social worker Roshan D’Souza Belman (Social Work) and country medicine doctor Francis Andrade Kalmady (home medicine) are selected in different sectors. Cooperative leader, John D’ Silva was felicitated for his lifetime achievement.

The conference will be inaugurated by Udupi bishop, Dr Jerald Isac Lobo. Former governor of Uttarakhand, Margaret Alva will take part as the chief guest. Former MLA and retired KAS officer J R Lobo will speak on the current condition of the Catholic community and its future.

Catholic Sabha Udupi former president Valerian Fernandes, former president Walter Cyril Pinto and treasurer Jerald Rodrigues were present.
