Landmines seized from Maoist hideout in Jharkhand


Ranchi, Feb 13 (IANS): The police in a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) seized landmines and weapons from a Maoist hideout in the Palamau district of Jharkhand on Thursday.

According to the police, the joint operation was launched at Sirinia on the basis of intelligence input about the presence of Maoists.

During the search, five landmines, four rifles, 40 AK-47s live cartridges, 20 metre wire and other things were seized. Landmines were later defused by the bomb disposal squad.
