Sullia: Man cutting tree branches dies after getting trapped in rope

Sullia, Feb 14: In an unfortunate incident reported from Noochila village within the limits of Subrahmanya police station on Thursday February 13, a young man, who was cutting down the branches of a tree, got trapped in the rope he was using after it got tightened around his body, and lost his life.

The victim has been identified as Sunil (34), son of Poovappa Gowda from Arampadi in Yenekal village. On Thursday, he had scaled a tree and was cutting down its branches. A branch of the tree to which a rope was tied, got entangled around him tightly when on its way down. Trapped and unable to breath, the youth lost his life on the tree.

The deceased was unmarried. He is survived by mother and a brother. On the basis of a complaint filed by Sunil's brother, a case stands registered against a local named Bhaskar Rai, in Subrahmanya police station. Bhaskar Rai has been accused of causing the death of Sunil by getting him to go up a dangerous tree without taking any precautionary safety measures to save him from danger.
