Udupi: Chinnara Santharpane midday meal programme launched at Sri Krishna math

Udupi, Feb 15: Sri Krishna prasadam- Chinnara Santharpane, a free midday meal programme, organized by Paryaya Admar math was inaugurated at Sri Narahari vedike, Rajangana at Sri Krishna math here, on Friday February 14.

Sri Ishapriya Theerta Swamiji of paryaya Admar math addressing the students said, "The mind is the reason behind bandhana and moksha of an individual. Happiness and grief do not lie in things which we can see, but they lie in the mind. Food influences our mind. Good work, good thoughts or custom (legacy) must be continued. One should respect his parents, because god is present in them. One should adopt good thoughts in life. Let us help others for a good cause and good happenings."

Sri Vishwapriya Swamiji of senior seer of Admar math in his blessings said, "There is nothing more satisfying than food. For our mind to be clean one should have good food. In today's world none of the opposition parties have the consciousness to analyzing things. If anybody has Krishna prasadam at Krishna math, he can emerge as a leader like Narendra Modi. Let God Sri Krishna be born in every house."



K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA said, "The mid-day meal plan at Udupi Sri Krishna math is a model and inspiration for the state which the Government of India later adopted. Thousands of school children were benefited by the scheme. Earlier, there were no government funds provided to the aided and non-aided schools. Hence, Krishna math began midday meal.

"By this scheme, a good relationship will be built between schools and Sri Krishna math. Many social activists were criticized for the management of this temple. But Sri Krishna math is contributing in its way to society.

Dr G Shankar of G Shankar Family Trust said, "This is a good programme. In my school days, we went to school without food for several days. This programme is very significant which has touched my heart."

During the first Paryaya, Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji initiated the most appreciated project 'Chinnara Santharpane' (midday meal programme for school students)which is being continued by all the Ashta Mathas in every Paryaya. Lac of school children were benefitted by the midday meal. Today it has completed 16 successful years.

Yashpal Suvarna, president of undivided Dakshina Kannada Fish Marketing Federation, Dr M Harishchandra, administration director, Gandhi Hospital Udupi, Prakashchandra Shetty, administrative director, GM Education Trust, Ramesh Bangera, administrative director, Udaya Group of Institutions and others were present.

Govindaraj welcomed the gathering and Santhosh proposed the vote of thanks.

Vijayasimhacharya compered the programme.
