Karkala, Feb 22: A Maruti Omni van hit a motor bike that was parked by the roadside at Gurgalgudde in Nallur village on Friday February 21. As a result, the bike rider was killed on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Sudhakar Shetty (51), a resident of Gurgalgudde. He had parked his bike by the side of Karkala-Beltangady highway and was speaking to a person named Hariprasad Shetty and his brother-in-law. On that occasion, an Omni van that was being driven recklessly and at high speed hit the motor bike after the van driver lost control over his vehicle.
Sudhakar Shetty suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. A case relating to this accident was registered in Karkala rural police station.
