'Occupy Raj Bhavan' protest against CAA in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 25 (IANS): "We are leading anti-CAA protests to live with dignity, not to die with fear," said Beevi Asma Kahtun as she inaugurated the 'Occupy Raj Bhavan' protest, here Tuesday.

The blockade of Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor, organised by Welfare Party Kerala, which began on Tuesday will continue for 30 hours.

"The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is a project to deny citizenship only to Muslims. We, mothers, begun the protest when the student protests were suppressed at Jamia Millia Islamia. The protest will continue until the CAA is withdrawn," said Asma Khatun.

The protest was inaugurated by handing over the Constitution to student leader Ayesha Renna.

Speaking on the occasion, Renna said, "I pray to can win this struggle without losing more lives. The authorities fear our struggles. That's why they are trying to break the struggle through various means. All we can say is that we strive to be successful," said Renna.
