BJP prepares to take Oppn head-on over Delhi violence

New Delhi, Mar 2 (IANS): With the Delhi violence setting the Opposition agenda for the Budget session of Parliament, which resumed on Monday, the ruling BJP is preparing itself to take on the Opposition fire over the issue.

The treasury benches have planned to aggressively counter the Congress as well as other parties over the statement made by their leaders.

With the opposition demanding Prime Minister's statement and trying to corner the government on various issues, the BJP wants discussion as per the rules. Home Minister Amit Shah is ready to speak on Delhi riots which have left 45 people dead and over 200 injured.

The BJP is likely to insist that the Delhi riots were pre-planned and aimed at gaining media attention during US President Donald Trump's visit to India.

The BJP will also hit out at the Congress and its supporting parties for supporting jihadi forces, in the conspiracy of Delhi violence.

The saffron party would raise Umar Khalid's speech on February 17. The Umar Khalid's speech in Yavatmal (Maharashtra) has gone viral. In his speech, Umar Khalid apparently mentioned Trump's visit, saying that people should take to streets and protest during Trump's arrival in India.

Parliament resumed on Monday, with opposition parties raising slogans and protesting against the government over the violence that erupted across various localities in north-east Delhi between February 23 and 25.

The violence began following clashes between anti and pro-CAA groups.

The Budget session of parliament began on January 31 and adjourned on Feb 11 to resume on March 2. The session will conclude on April 3.

Parliament is not the place to violently, aggressively and in unruly manner to work. BJP can not hide the fact and mask it by behaving unparliamentarily. Opposition parties should calmly stick to the rules and rightfully demand justice and verification of issues till they are satisfied. Protests started much before Trump's visit to India and it's still continuing. Why all arrested and FIRs on opposition???. Why no arrests and FIRs on BJP???. Opposition were falsely implicated and charged whereas BJP leaders have inflamed the situation and used goons to turn peaceful protests into bloody clashes.
