Mangaluru, Mar 7: Joint managing director of Jyothy Laboratories Ullas Kamath, exhorted the youth to move away from their comfort zones if they want to be successful in life.

He was speaking at the 'Kshamata UGetIn' progamme organized as a prelude to 'Prerana - 2020' programme being organized under the aegis of Vishwa Konkani Kendra Scholarship Fund, VKSSF Alumni Association and Vishwa Konkani Kendra on February, March 6.

Kamath said that very few who topped the class did well in life too, but there are many examples of people who were poor at studies doing exceedingly well in life. He urged the students to pursue education, bag a job thereafter and then do higher education that is suitable to them. He said that money is as important as air for one's existence and only those who do not have money question the need for having it. He however, advised people having money to use it for the betterment of people around.

Replying to questions posed by students, Kamath stated that those who want to employ people under them should first get firsthand experience by joining work. "Keep away people who praise you when you are successful and find fault when you fail. It is a myth that pursuit of higher education will help you settle down in life," he stated.

He said that the aim of Kshamata programmee is to bring out the inner talent in the students, and providing guidance towards becoming successful.

Vishwa Konkani Kendra president Basti Vaman Shenoy, inaugurated the programme. Secretaries Nandagopal Shenoy and Prabhakar Pai, vice president Gilbert D'Souza, treasurer B R Bhat, 'Kshamata' directors M N Pai, and Pradeep Shenoy, Kerala Konkani Academy president Ramesh Pai, U Ramadas Math and others were present. Vishwa Konkani Kenda director Gurudath Bantwalkar welcomed.
