Mangaluru, Mar 10: The mutilated body of an unidentified youth which was found lying on the railway tracks at the second bridge at Morgans Gate in the city was identified.

The deceased has been identified as Suhas (33) from Kozhikode. At around 11.30 pm, when the West Coast train was moving from the city, he committed suicide. The railway staff who saw this alerted the railway police. The railway police found the body under the second bridge at Morgans Gate with severed legs.

It is said that Suhas, who was working as an engineer at Pune, had suffered serious injuries in an accident. As he availed prolonged leave because of the injury, he was sacked by the company. Suhas, who was taking rest at his home, returned to Pune but the worry about his inability to bag a job was always on his mind, it is learnt.

The police gathered these details based on a sim card found in the pocket of the youth. They called the family with the help of this sim card and put together details. They also got to know that Suhas has an elder sister who lives at Bengaluru, while his mother lives at Kozhikode.
