Kasargod: POCSO accused with symptoms of coronavirus admitted in isolation ward

Kasargod, Mar 11: An accused in a POCSO case suspected to be infected with coronavirus has been admitted in the isolation ward of Kasargod taluk hospital.

The accused was absconding and had gone abroad. Kasargod police had received information two days ago that he is returning to his hometown. He was taken into custody when he landed at Mangaluru International Airport. He had escaped to Malaysia last year.

He was produced in the court and remanded to fourteen days judicial custody. Police came to know that the suspect had gone to Malaysia after escorting him to Kasargod sub jail. As he was suffering from cold and fever, the police personnel informed about it to the health department. He was admitted in isolation ward later. The condition of his health will be known after receiving the medical test reports.
