Bantwal, Mar 11: The government as expected appointed senior BJP leader B Devasasa Shetty Bantwal as president of Bantwal town planning authority. The official notification to that effect was released on Wednesday. The position of the president was vacant for the last two years.

Former municipal councillor Bhasker Kulal Kamaje, M K Sachin Melkar and A Ramaprasad Bantwal have been appointed as directors. The new committee chaired by Devadas Shetty will function for next three years.

People in council limits coming for important work were experiencing problems during the last two years as there was no president and committee for Bantwal town planning authority (BUDA).

New president Devadas Shetty who served as former president of Bantwal block and municipal councillor for ten years has complete experience of problems being faced by ordinary people from the authority due to legal hurdles and the position has naturally favoured him.
