Bantwal: Police arrest two relating to assault on youth

Bantwal, Mar 23: In connection with an incident in which a man was attacked with lethal weapons, the Vittal police have arrested two persons. The incident had happened at Neerkaje bus shelter in Kepu village reportedly for a frivolous reason.

The arrested persons happen to be Ajay alias Ajay Prasad (23) from Neerkaje, and Prakhath (23), resident of Mittalike in Alike village.

A person named Naveen was at the Neerkaje bus shelter on Saturday night. Ajay and his accomplice came there and argued with him on the issue of attacking the former's brother. The duo then attacked Naveen with lethal weapons in the abdomen and other body parts. When Prakhyath was hitting Naveen with hand and kicking him, Ganesh from Badekody tried to pacify them at which Ganesh was injured in his finger, Naveen said in his complaint made in Vittal police station.

The operation to arrest them was executed by a police team from Vittal headed by Vittal station house officer, Vinod S K, under the leadership of circle inspector, T D Nagaraj and guidance of deputy superintendent of police, Valentine D'Souza and superintendent of police, Dr Laxmi Prasad.
