Bhatkal: Man slips, meets death at sea

Bhatkal, Mar 26: A person who approached the sea, suddenly slipped and drowned. It is said that he went there to pass the bowels. The incident happened within the limits of Karikal village within Bhatkal rural police station limits on Wednesday, March 25.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Durgappa Naik (42), a coolie by profession.

As per information, Manjunath had developed the practice to go to the sea, which is located by the side of his home, to relieve himself. He slipped accidentally during one such trip and could not withstand the force of the waves. A case of unnatural death was registered in a rural police station here relating to this incident.
