Udupi, Mar 26: Sounding a word of caution for the media and others, assistant superintendent of police here, Kumar Chandra, pointed out that making public the photo or other forms identity of patients is a crime under the Medical Confidentiality Act 1955.
His warning has come in the wake of reported violation of the provisions of the said act by certain quarters. Reportedly, the photo of a person who had tested positive for the coronavirus infection in the district had become viral and the ASP took exception to such practices.
