Udupi: U R Sabhapathi appointed president of district Congress task force committee

Udupi, Apr 3: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has appointed senior Congress leader U R Sabhapathi as president of district Congress task force committee, headed by former speaker K R Ramesh Kumar. It was formed to tackle the wider spreading coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state and to provide support to those who are in need.

U R Sabhapathi is one among other 31 presidents of different districts in the state. According to the directions, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, president district Congress Committee, will support him in all tasks.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president Saleem Ahmed is the convener of the task force.

District Congress Committee and Block Congress Committee presidents will monitor relief works in their jurisdictions.

Many poor people are deprived of basic facilities due to lockdown. Considering this point, the KPCC came up with a new set up in order to tackle the situation in the state.

The Congress task force committee is set to extend help to daily wages labourers, migrant workers, destitute and marginalized people of the society.
